What is Alopecia:
Alopecia is a kind of ailment that is related to scalp and face. Though there are different types of Alopecia. Name of these types is Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis, Alopecia Universalis. But most common type is Alopecia Areata. It can be caused due to the failure of body cells (Hair Follicles) and destroys own tissue.
Alopecia areata is the first stage of alopecia which is the most general in type. This causes hair loss in scalp, face, beard and other parts of the body in patches.

Due to alopecia areata, your nail can also be affected. Tiny Pinpoint dents are found in the nails. Their colors can be white with spots, lines, be rough, lose their shine, and become thin day by day and gets split. Moreover, nails can change their shapes or fall off.
Causes of Alopecia Areata
People of any age can have this type of diseases. It often begins in childhood. If any of your family members have this disease, you can also be affected by this disease.
It is an autoimmune disease. It means that the body’s immune system attacks the body. When it developed, the body attacks its own hair follicles. A person’s hair follicles. Genetic makeup, being combined with other factors triggers this form of hair loss.
People who face alopecia Areata may also be affected by following diseases:
- Another disease named as thyroid disease.
- Asthma or allergies mainly atopic dermatitis called eczema and hay fever
Diagnose of Alopecia Areata
This can be diagnosed through physical examination and medical tests. The doctor may examine the hair loss and hair loss pattern will define your issues.
When the doctor will be doubtful about the disease of the hair loss, he will give you the list of some test to identify the nature of the disease. The tests can be like hair analysis, blood test, TSH, T3, T4 etc.
Alopecia Areata Natural Treatment
There are many home remedies and natural treatment of Alopecia Areata including herbal treatment. But they are yet to be helpful to be that much helpful. Their level of cure is not that much remarkable. As soon as you stop using these medicines you may face the alopecia Areata again. Vitamin C rich diet: It is one of the healthiest ways to reduce the effects of alopecia. Eat Vitamin Crich diet. It is available in citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables.
Onions: Onions are one of the many home remedies. Try to rube the onion juice on your scalp, it will gradually help you to get rid of Alopecia Areata.
Coconut Milk: It can give you quick recovery. Use the paste of coconut milk and gram flour. This boots the health of the scalp and helps the hair to grow again.
Aloe Vera: These sticky fluids of Aloe Vera give positive results on the affected skin when applied.
Lavender: Science has given proof that when lavender is rubbed on the area of initial baldness it can cure the scalp. Moreover, it can reverse the effects of Alopecia Areata.
High Silicon Vegetables: Potatoes, pepper, and cucumber are the vegetables which contain high silicon content in their skin and proven to be helpful for the treatment of Alopecia Areata.

Medical Treatment of Alopecia Areata:
Though, there is hardly any treatment of alopecia areata that works for all. Some treatments are effective for some people may not apply for others. Treatment of alopecia depends on different types of factors: age of the patient, type of ailments, the extent of hair loss. Treatment of alopecia mainly aims at the recovery of immune systems and help re-growth hairs. But it can be only applicable to the people whose level of diseases is not that much deep. Moreover, it works for them, who has more than less than 50% hair loss.
Those people who have already lost more than 50% hair from different parts of the body like scalp and other areas can take oral medication (taken as a pill).
But any kind of treatment is yet to be specifically approved by FDA (Food and Drug Administration) rather they are approved for other diseases. However, there is no specific treatment system declared by the doctors.
